Who we are

  1. www.mysticmouse.com (the Website) is owned and run by Mystic Mouse Limited (we or us or our), we are registered in England and Wales under company number 4177084. The Website is hosted by Wix.com.

  2. We will update this policy from time to time whenever we make relevant changes (or when the law requires), so don’t forget to check it each time you visit the site (you can find a link on the bottom of every page). The most recent change to this policy was made on 19th November 2023

How We Collect Information from You

  1. Generally, we collect your personal information in one of three ways:

    • You sign up using a form on our website to receive a newsletter, mini course etc.

    • You purchase a product or service from us.

    • You contact us via email or the contact form on our website.

  2. Our web host (Wix.com) uses ‘essential’ & ‘functional’ cookies to maintain the security and performance of the website (see our cookie policy).

  3. We may use anonymized data from cookies to help us understand how our visitors are using the site and how they arrived here.

  4. We do not gather personal information from third party sources.

 

What Information We Collect and Why

  1. We collect personal information in so far as it is necessary to provide the services you request, this could include your name, address, email address and/or contact number.
    We may use your information to:

    • Supply a product(s) that you have ordered

    • Complete the delivery of a service you have requested

    • Respond to a question

    • Communicate with you via regular newsletters

    • Carry out any contractual obligations we may have towards you

    • To comply with any applicable laws and regulations

    • Otherwise fulfil our purpose as a customer-focused organisation

  2. We do not collect or store any bank or credit card information at any point. Any payment takes place only through highly reputable and secure third-party services such as PayPal.

 

The Lawful Basis for Processing

  1. We process information where we have a contractual obligation with you. When you buy a product or service from us, or otherwise agree to our terms and conditions, a contract is formed between you and us. We shall continue to process this information until the contract between us ends or is terminated by either party under the terms of the contract.

  2. We may also process information with your consent. This could happen when:

    • you ask us to provide you with information about our business, including our products and services

    • you sign up to receive our newsletter by using a form on the website

  3. In these cases, you provide your consent to us to process information (that may include personal data) in a way that is reasonable to fulfil the request.

  4. You may withdraw your consent at any time by instructing us at service@mysticmouse.com. However, if you do so, you may not be able to use our website or our services further. Even if you withdraw consent, we may need to continue processing your data for legal reasons (such as complying with accounting regulations).

 

The Retention Periods for the Personal Data

  1. We aim to maintain an active email list for sending news or updates. We will periodically delete data of subscribers who have been inactive for more than 6 months. If you choose to unsubscribe, your data will be deleted from our list immediately.

 

Who has Access to Your Information?

  1. When you place an order with us, your contact details are shared with our trusted print partner (Print On Demand Worldwide based in the United Kingdom) so they can fulfill your order - you can view their privacy policy here. The chosen courier will also have access to your name and address the purposes of supply, delivery and/or tracking of the order

  2. When you make any online payment with us, your payment will be processed by a reputable third-party payment processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions.

  3. Aside from that, the only people who will ever handle your data are the responsible officers at Mystic Mouse.

  4. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

  5. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

 

Your choices

  1. You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you decide you no longer wish to receive our marketing communications, then you are free to unsubscribe at any time. We’ll always make it easy for you to do that. (Look for a simple ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of every email.)

  2. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by phone, SMS or direct mail. (We may however phone you if you have supplied us with your phone number and if we need to get in touch in relation to the provision of a product or service you have requested).

  3.  Your rights with respect to the processing: you have the right to ask us to access, rectify, erase and/or restrict the personal data we process. If you want to access or update your information, you can request to do so by emailing us at service@mysticmouse.com  or via your “My Account” page if you have one.

 

If you have a complaint

  1. We believe that the best way to protect your data is for us to hold the absolute minimum we can in order to provide the services you have requested. However, if you have any concerns about this policy or the way we handle data you should tell us by emailing service@mysticmouse.com and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

  2. If we receive a complaint, we will record the information you have given to us on the basis of consent. We use that information to resolve your complaint. Privacy laws are extremely complex and we may need to share information contained in the complaint with third parties in order to resolve the situation. If we choose to do this it will be at our sole discretion.

  3. If a dispute is not settled then we hope you will agree to attempt to resolve it by engaging in good faith with us in a process of mediation or arbitration.

  4. As Mystic Mouse Limited is based in the UK, if you are in any way dissatisfied about how we process your personal data, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). This can be done at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to talk to you about your concern before you approach the ICO. 

 

Security Used to Protect the Loss, Misuse or Alteration of Your Information

  1. Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

  2. All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

  3. Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website(s), you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

 

Holding your data outside the UK

  1. We are a small, UK-based company, but our client base is global and our website is hosted via Wix.com with technology that may be deployed on servers worldwide. This means that your data may be collected and stored outside the UK, and the privacy policies which apply in those jurisdictions may of course be different. That said, the vast majority of our server use is in the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union and other highly reputable jurisdictions. The data is always protected using the safety precautions outlined in the previous section.

  1. If you contact us with positive feedback about one of our products or services, we may use that comment in our promotional literature and/or on our website. We do not, however, identify users with their full name.

 

Website Analysis

  1. To provide you with the best browsing experience, we may from time to time engage in analytical exercises to see how people are using the website. Any data we collect is anonymous and collated into large statistical aggregates that provide generalised trends. We will never ‘spy’ on you.
