Big Cat Collection
All these regal felines – big and small - were photographed at the Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, Kent. As always I aim to capture the essence and soul of these magnificent creatures, honouring their beauty and grace.
It all began with a single picture, a portrait of Ngozi, the majestic white lion. Fueled by my desire to cheer up a dear friend during her hospital stay, this initial creation sparked a creative journey that would unfold into a whole series of images. Four of these creations (white lion, cheetah, snow leopard, and tiger) became the basis for the 2021 Conscious Creatures Oracle deck.
In April 2023, I found myself back at the sanctuary for a brief visit, resulting in the opportunity to grab some photographs of another lion, Kasanga. This encounter inspired a dramatic new artistic style and the finished work became a limited edition print on canvas - the inaugural piece going to the Big Cat Sanctuary to be auctioned off to help raise funds for Kasanga's new enclosure.
